Cowpie
Looks like a good service, anyone have any personal experiance with NetFlix?
cesardrgn
Not really, but i also want to subscribe to it...
Jay
I use it, it's a good deal. The movies usually show up a day earlier than the date they tell me to expect them, and I haven't had any bad DVD's (knock on wood).

blackcoffee
Netflix is a real good service to get used too. Usually the movies that you really want though, are sometimes NOT AVAILABLE or on WAIT. But overall I give it 4.5/5 stars
poind
I generally like them, and have used them for awhile. Unless you have a movie getting returned right when new releases come out (normally released on Tuesday, though they'll ship the Monday before), you can end up waiting for new things much more than you might like. The service is ideal if you have a general movie interest, would watch/turn around things regularly, and don't mind that you might not get brand new releases as quickly as you would if you rented in-person locally. Depending on your interests (Netflix can have more obscure stuff for those interested), you might want to check out things like Wal-Mart, which offer an even cheaper service. Don't know how good they are though. Oh. Also. Had a problem with Netflix "losing" DVD's (especially those returned to them) on average maybe once every two months. They don't charge you for these if you're a regular subscriber, but can create account problems if you get up to six or so missing. Sounds like their biggest problems have been with some NY post office. Just FYI. Can get a bit frustrating. Wouldn't stop me from recommending them in general though--just look into Wal-Mart and others, too, depending on your priorities.

Galley_SimRacer
Great service; I only live 150 miles from their distribution center, so the turn-around time is very fast.
mzkhadir
Blockbuster Video started one too, if you have one near your house, that would be better. They have one for 20 bucks and 25 bucks, 2 or 3 movies at one and no LATE FEES.
AndyD
I was going to try it out but I couldn't justify the monthly subscription. I hardly ever rent any movies. I would look at your renting habits and ask yourself whether it really is worth paying the monthly sub.
trashpickinman
I liked using it, dont have enough money right now, but used to live around 20 miles from the distribution center in Houston, TX. turnaround was about 2-3 days. great service, love renting lots of different movies, stuff I normally wouldnt have rented either due to cost, or didnt even know it existed. webpage was easy to navigate and order DVDs. when i get more money I will definitely start up my subscription again. Blockbuster was about $4-5 per DVD, i could get over a dozen movies a month with netflix, definitely a cost saving for me.
BxBoy
Walmart is starting something like this too..
mzkhadir
When I was with the service, my problem was the turn around time + the movies that I would put on hold would be on hold by 10 to 15 other people and that caused problems. Thats why when Blockbuster started their service, I was much happier, because I live 15 minutes away from one, for 20 bucks for 2 movies at a time, its a great deal for me + no late fees. PS. I do not work for Blockbuster, but I do buy my games from them for the Xbox and the GC.
Aaron Veteran Posted September 10, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 10, 2003 I used it when the first started several years ago and the turn around and new releases were bad. I just strated it up again about 6 months ago after I noticed a distribution center was opned about 120 miles for me. Now I would give it about 8-9/10. Just don't expect to get a new release the first week it is out. But after a while, you don't even notice it. It is great for true movie buffs becasue they have some of the most obscure and foreign flicks you have ever seen. If I mail the movies off on Monday, I usually get the next ones back by Thursday (although they always say Friday). They alwasy show up a day early. As long as you rent 4 or more movies a month from Blockbuster (or simliar) then it is a good deal.
threetonesun
It works great if you're near a major city, as they usually have faster shipping times. If it works out price wise, then it's worth it, especially since Blockbuster has been jacking up the prices more and more lately.
