MatiasRaudzus
This is really cool, and the video is nice as well. Ever since NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter began circling the Moon at low altitude in mid-2009, planetary scientists and the public have marveled at the incredible trove of observations it's been beaming back to Earth. Most often in the spotlight are the jaw-dropping closeups of Apollo landing sites by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC). It can resolve the surface at 2 feet (0.5 m) per pixel ? good enough to reveal even the paths worn in the lunar soil by the astronauts' boots. The work of LROC's wide-angle camera, which provides surface context for those incredible narrow-angle shots, has largely gone unheralded ? until now. This past week the team released a new mosaic of the Moon's near side taken entirely with wide-angle frames. Acquired during a two-week period in December, the 1,300 black-and-white frames create a full-disk mosaic measuring 24,000 pixels across. Gulp! http://www.skyandtelescope.com/news/116932598.html (you can download the TIF file there as well).

neoadorable
what landing? this is an orbiter, it's not a lander. you mean the Apollo landingS? how the heck can this thing give you a screenshot of those happening when the last one occurred in 1972? MatiasRaudzus
Nope, doesn't count, as that could've been faked. No one has taken a picture of the supposed landing site with anything modern.

neoadorable
there are tons of images of the equipment left on the moon. you can bounce lasers of the reflectors. the lunar orbiters have all imaged the landing sites. why are we even talking about this? stevember
It amazes me the same people that believe in Aliens visiting earth often believe we never went to moon. Regarding thse moaning about pics of moon landing try something for me take a picture of a spec dust in detail from 10 metres away. To design and put in orbit a camera capable would be complete waste money to prove to the ignorant regarding moon landings that they happened. I'm sorry, what? How does that "not count"?! You say nothing modern has taken a photo of the moon landing sites. If a lunar orbiter isn't modern, I don't know what is. If you mean nobody on Earth has taken a photo, then don't hold your breath! Even the best telescopes with the most modern adaptive optics can achieve an angular resolution of around 0.1 arcseconds at optical wavelengths. Assuming the moon has a distance of 384.4x10^6 metres, the smallest detail you can see will be roughly 186 metres across, considerably larger than your average lunar lander! And based on your previous posts, even if we somehow manage to get telescopes to the resolution required, you will probably still claim it has been faked! neoadorable
no, those were photoshopped by the NWO. and Columbus never made it to America, and Zheng He was an aqua-phobic drunk. oh and the reason we still don't have hover cars is because we've been lied to, air doesn't exist. Hum
I don't see any craft. Alien, or otherwise. Questionable blobs of light. If someone said 'look, there's a picture of a UFO on the surface of the Moon', people would scoff. These days anything can be faked. And 'evidence' from NASA is highly doubtful. wmoley2k
Yes, with data being used as evidence. I have no seen any evidence that we did not land on the Moon, and ALL of the evidence points to the conclusion that we did. If someone manipulates that data, then they aren't a true scientist. There is plenty of evidence it happened, why can't people accept that without coming up with crackpot theories and cover-ups?
neoadorable
because actual reality is much more terrifying. in real life the world is run by short-sighted, greedy and power-hungry yet all too human *******s who are just worried about their tenure as the elite de jour. we're at the mercy of people and societal machines that would rather spend trillions on circle jerk bail outs than on what's clearly the future of humanity. for the price of one year of the US and China playing ooh-aah in the Pacific we can send people to Mars with enough gear to get us up to freakin Total Recall levels of development in no time. in the real word we are all temporary here and we're all lazy and tend to put off any serious endeavor or work - including in our own personal lives. so people make up interesting stories to explain this very mundane reality. anything's possible, sure, but no, the moon landings were not faked. the only thing fake about them were the glorious speeches from the same smiling politicos who threw NASA on their ass in the early 70's when a distraction from Tet offensive body bags wasn't needed anymore and when the science people and astronauts came up to DC with a cost proposal for permanent moon habitation and missions to Venus and Mars. the bean counters took one look at that and sent NASA packing to play with shuttles and barely in the air "space stations".
