shake
so many good remarks were being made by ppl here at neowin abt final fantasy 7 that i finaly decided to "acquire" it. the only problem is that the game gets stuck at a sequence where an old man(grandfather of XII) shows u around his observotary. so i am posting my saved game with teh hope that some here could just use it to make a save just seconds afterwards so that i can go on playing all u have to do is go upstairs, enter the lift, talk to the old man, comeback and save again i normaly would have made such a request but i have already invested a few days into it and the game is pretty darn good save00.ff7

.....
It's a bug in the game (which didn't happen to me) - eidos had a save just after that, dunno if it's still there on their site.
vuerro
I agree with rezza, the game is more than worth it... also there are a sh*t load of patches available if j00 look hard enough (sorry can't point them out from where i @)
Daybreak
The patch you're looking for ( unofficial one that is ) can be found here, at AnimeVamp's site. It collates most of Eidos's patches ( Riva TNT/ Geforce support, inverted video blah blah blah ) and enables you to use anti-aliasing. Take note if you're using a Geforce 4 Ti Series card - the patch doesn't like it... Text becomes blurry et al. Oddly enough, Geforce 4 MX series cards perform just fine with the patch. But I'd agree with the rest. Go pick up a copy of FFVII. Its rather old now, shouldn't be too expensive, but you'll find that its worth your every dollar. :woot:
Keldyn
Indeed. FFVII is a classic worthy of any RPG fans collection. Buy it. You won't be sorry. P.S. Sephiroth ownz (Y)
Malechai Veteran Posted September 3, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 3, 2003 ff7 will not work properly under win2000 or winxp without 3rd party hacked patches to the game. while i would have said FF7 for the pc was buy worthy back when it actually came out, now it is definately not buy worthy as you can't get thru the game properly without above mentioned patches. eidos themselves basically tell you tough ****.. i wouldn't buy this game now if it were 1 dollar simply because it just doesnt work on current OS's. PS i bought ff7 bought back when i used win98.. tried to play it the other day under XP. applied patches as mentioned on eidos's site... i get the starting menu, pick new game, black screen. nothing.

Malechai Veteran Posted September 3, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 3, 2003 :| ok thats definately not the 3rd party patch i used.. i used an unofficial one that was linked from the eidos website support page i'll have to give this one a go! curious though... do i need to apply the official eidos patches before this one? or can i go straight from installation to this one? Keldyn
You should be able to go straight from a clean installation. I did. It's a great patch. Highly recommended. (Y)

BxBoy
I remember I got it on clearance a while back in CompUSA for $7, it was well worth it. Mind you, this was back in the days of Win98 (windows 2000 wasn't even out yet). It's definately worth getting.. one of the better (if not best) FF game! shake
must say i got more replies than i anticipated will try all the patches u guys mentioned. as far as the OS is concerned i have both 98 & XP installed and i play it on 98 so no OS patched required there. as far as buying the game is concerned, the only reason i didnt buy was that it was not available where i live and it would cost me an arm and a leg to order it through the internet
perochan
if only Eidos made the game that could revive Aerith... :( I would buy the game and play ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
Laughing-Man
if only Eidos made the game that could revive Aerith... :( I would buy the game and play ALL OVER AGAIN!!! Well I am sure you could find a crack that could replace one of the living characters, for example Tifa, with Aeries. I used to have one that replaced Cloud with Sephiroth, but it was not really coded right and the animations were messed up.

You know Aerith will never be revived...although at one point throughout FF7 you can see briefly a ghost appearance of Aerith...inside a house I think. morsmordre
Because of this thread, I decided to install it to relive the memories. I installed the game and applied the patch posted above but when I try to start the game, it gives me: "Please insert FF7 Game Disc 1, 2, or 3 and try again." I've tried it with all the three discs it asked for and it still won't start. Any suggestions?
