Mosfet
Is there a way (application) to control/limit the network speed of my PC? Thanks for any help
Statikk
What OS are you running. Do you want to limit the bandwidth the machine as a whole is allowed to use, or just certain programs running on that machine. You're going to have to give more info in able to get a definite answer. Mosfet
I'm running winxp pro sp1, and yes the whole used bandwidth that is because copying a lot of files from my pc through the network slows it down, and I don't want to remove the sharing of files
Statikk
I believe if you were running your connection through a windows 2000/2003 based server there would be a microsoft solution to your problem. However on XP this is all I was able to find. http://bandwidthcontroller.com/
+BudMan MVC Posted September 3, 2003 MVC Share Posted September 3, 2003 What exactly are you doing? Are you sharing files with some p2p software, or on a LAN (network share). How many files are being copied at a time? Is there only one connection - or do you have 100 people accessing your machine as a file server? Copying a file or 2 to another machine on your network should NOT slow down your machine - I would think there is something else wrong, besides your network speed? Mosfet
it is only netowrk share and one connection with not many users, but this slows it down, it uses about 75% of the network bandwidth the computer is P4 1.6 GHz 256 RD ram
