Mcafee Antivirus+Firewll2003 or Norton anti+fir 03

Recommended Posts

Dont quote me on this, but i heard from a pc tech that Norton was by far the best. McAfee has a tendency of staying around on a system after being uninstalled. Dont know if this is true, but I am happy with Norton personally. Tis good.

As far as firewall is concerned, go with Zone Alarm Pro. It is the premiere firewall on the market imo.

"my two cents"

Like Budman said they both work, however I am really biased towards Norton's firewall. It's my gavorite out of all the firewalls I've ever used. Both of the anti viruses are about rqual although again I'm partial to Norton's AV. McAfee's supposed to be better than Norton in actual virus tests though, but I haven't played with one of thier products in 2 yrs so I can't speak from experience about Mcafees quality, and even though Nortons comes out behind in the tests it's by a small margin.

So I say Norton but they'll both do the job great.

Mcafee 7 Professional Version is really really good as an AV, has a good protection and a detailed file scanning system.

I just upgraded to norton internet security 2003. contains anti-virus2003, popup blocker, ad blocker, personal firewall, etc..

rang up as 50 bucks, i have a 20$ rebate, and another 30$ rebate for upgrading. From past experience norton uses less resources and does a great job. Have yet to have problems with it, while I have had problems with mcafee in the past.

Last i heard was that mcafee a/v used by hotmail wasn't to be trusted. I dont know the reliability of this arguement, but that has been why i used Norton.

In the last 6 months i have been running norton a/v i havent had a single problem....
