+primortal Subscriber² Posted September 3, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted September 3, 2003 it still can be a firewall issue, ISP issue, software issue. Its hard to diagnose without understanding your configuration. In your first message MSN complains about the proxy setting in IE. Is there a proxy setting in IE (Tools|Internet Options|Connections LAN settings)?

+primortal Subscriber² Posted September 3, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted September 3, 2003 there is u have to put addres port and yes or no for bypass proxy server for local addres wat i put? So you are using a proxy server to access the internet. It very possible that the proxy server is prohibiting MSN messenger from communicating. Bypass proxy server setting might not help you at all. Contact the people who administer the proxy server and ask them if you can use MSN messenger....
Mattc55
wat is a proxy server?
+primortal Subscriber² Posted September 3, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted September 3, 2003 proxy server sits inbetween you and the internet. It also masks your IP address so that the rest of the world doesn't see it just only the proxy server address. The proxy server handles the requests from your browser and then delivers the requested site to you once it receives it.
