Have you received NoDo yet?

Recommended Posts

The poll should be self-explanatory, The forums won't allow me to ask another question in the poll, so I can't ask what phone you have so, if you could reply with what phone you have in addition that would be great. Hopefully we can figure out which carriers are rolling out the update or not.

As I said in the other thread I have recieved the update but it seems I may be the exception rather than the rule.

Samsung Omina 7 o2 UK Sim free updated this morning to nodo.

**** MS and their hypocrisy. They attacked Android for delaying updates now look at them... My phone still have 7004 and I probably won't get it until next year.

But isn't this at the carrier end? MS has released the update, I have it so I'm guessing you should be ventig at your carrier.

Nothing to report here. Samsing Focus on Rogers (which is missing in your poll so I could not complete it accurately)

Sorry about the lack of all carriers, I took the list from Microsoft's press release hoping that the carriers they gave would be the ones with WP7 devices, I guess not though. I can't edit the poll, so you're going to have to say "other" here.

Unbranded T-Mobile USA HD7, received the update.

For those of you who are branded and want to unbrand without flashing a new ROM (so you get the update faster):

LG Devices

1. Enable the MFG application by going to the dialer and dialing ##634# then pressing call.

2. Launch the MFG application and enter 277634#*# when prompted for a password.

3. Select the Engineer Menu item.

4. Select the Other Setting menu item.

5. Select the Edit registry menu item.

6. Set the input boxes on this menu as follows:

Select ROOT_PATH: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Input SUB_PATH: \System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\

Input KEY: MobileOperator

Data Type: STRING

7. Select Query and write down the result in case you need to re-brand for some reason.

8. To debrand just enter the same information above and leave the input data field blank. The tool will say fail but it really did set correctly.

You can now connect to Zune and check for updates.

Keep in mind the HTC and Samsung devices require a dev-unlocked phone (either through ChevronWP7 or you're a developer / student on MSDN App Hub)

The LG trick didn't work for me though my phone isn't branded anyways, I tried it out just for the heck of it.

The Telus website for Canada says that the update will be available for the 29th of March for the LG optimus 7 and will take about 4 weeks for everyone to get it.

Microsoft is releasing the software update in a phased approach and it may take up to four weeks for all TELUS customers to have the option to receive the update and upgrade their device software."

ATT Customer Service has no clue and won't escalate a service request to find out any further details. Certainly hope a leaked rom for Samsung Focus eventually hits the streets :)

At least Microsoft is providing tables that show what phase the updates for the phones are in: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/features/update-schedule.aspx

Apparently in the U.S., T-Mobile is ready to roll out the update, but AT&T is still testing.

That table is disturbing :) Nodo shouldn't still be in testing phase and sadly, even if it updates form testing it means "10 days or less" of waiting before delivery.

I would say most ATT samsung focus users won't see the update until june.

Yeh I don't know what's going on tbh. The update has been ready since December, and they handed it over to ODMs for testing and device specific fixes. Now knowing ODMs this probably took like there months and then they were handed off to carriers for them to test. And since carriers are no better than ODms, here we are today.

There are a bunch of HTC HD7 unbranded NoDo ROMs on XDA (and possibly even for other devices but I haven't checked) for those that are impatient. Alternatively just unbrand your device (check the previous page for the how to) and just wait for MS to push out the update for your device / country (will be a lot quicker since it skips the carrier test).

Also I guess keep contacting your carrier and demand for the update to be released, maybe if enough people complain they'll get off their asses.

I would say at last and not at least :pinch:

yup that is really depressing...and then this catched my eye..

Stage 2: Scheduling

Operator testing is complete, and Microsoft is scheduling the update for delivery. This phase typically lasts 10 days or less.

10 freaking days after testing is complete ???? seriously, WTF!
