George P Global Moderator Posted April 14, 2011 Global Moderator Share Posted April 14, 2011 My link Microsoft distinguished engineer Istvan Cseri revealed the new hardware specifications for future Windows Phones on Wednesday. Cseri explains that hardware manufacturers can now include a Gyro sensor in future Windows Phones. The Gyro feature is an optional element that OEMs can decide to build into their future Windows Phone devices. Microsoft has also been working closely with the latest hardware silicon vendors to support Qualcomm?s new system-on-a-chip (SoC) MSM7X30 chipset. Mobiletechworld reports that Microsoft has also dropped the HVGA chassis spec and that WVGA is now the only screen resolution supported for Windows Phones. Qualcomm remains the only certified SoC manufacturer. *Edit* The MSM7x30 chipset are lower clocked 800Mhz snapdragons btw.
BajiRav
I am surprised that they didn't bump the screen resolution?
George P Global Moderator Posted April 14, 2011 Author Global Moderator Share Posted April 14, 2011 I am surprised that they didn't bump the screen resolution? That could be something for WP8 next year maybe? Or maybe for some future chasis 2 spec we still don't know about?
