[7 x64] What Brings You To x64 Land?

built this computer back in 2007

so i wanted x64, been adding more ram since

next build will be sandy bridge with 16gb of ram

I use x64 because of the amount of RAM I have and that is needed (8GB). It provides more snappiness for me on a lot of my design programs and such, so I guess you could say stability as well.

Because I built a computer that required it. It was either that or waste half my RAM. That and having a 64-bit processor.

Bleh I have 4GB of RAM but still run 32-bit... I am now running some advanced visulisation tools that are available in 64-bit (they use EPIC amounts of RAM and annoyingly don't offset processing to the GPU), so I am tempted to go 64-bit. I have 64-bit on my notebook and it took so long just to get used to aesthetic things like "program files (x86)" and all *32 programs in taskmgr.

My computer just happened to come with Windows 7 x64 (well...4 GB of RAM as well).

2 years ago. I got a PC with 4GB of ram. And it came with Win7 x64. So i didn't complain ;)
