Excel 2010 Crashes

Question

Hi,

I am running Excel 2010 on x64 bit version of Windows 7 and I am having problems with it crashing. Whenever I open another spreadsheet, it would just hang. This only happens when I open spreadsheets that have macros in them. Normal spreadsheets open up fine. I tried to go through the Trust Centre and enable/disable things but it made no difference. I have other PCs running Windows 7 64 and XP and all work ok with Office 2010 opening the same files. Below is the error log from Event Viewer.

The program EXCEL.EXE version 14.0.5130.5003 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Process ID: 1514

Start Time: 01cbfe950f31b742

Termination Time: 16

Application Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE

Report Id: 57e2101e-6a88-11e0-8a6f-bc305bab779f

From what I can tell this is a 64 bit office as well. I may be wrong!

Well, if you say other machines are opening it with no problems, should probably would start with the basics.. have you run the repair on Office yet? Via Programs and Features, find Office and right click it, hit "Change", then "Repair".

Any errors that happen in the registry will affect the Microsoft Excel. Make sure that you clean the registry once in a while.
