Office 2007 Installation Error

Question

I am trying to install Office 2007 (Enterprise) on a staff members personal laptop running Windows 7 x64. It previously had a trial of 2010 on the laptop which I uninstalled via Programs and Features first. Everytime I run the setup.exe I get the error The language of this installation package is not supported by your system. I've installed this same Office 2007 install on probably 20 other Windows 7 x86 and x64 machines without an issue. I've looked over pretty much all the typical problems via google but most are for uninstalling an Office product. I've also checked the locale and regional settings and they all appear to be intact. Any suggestion.

I've run into this issue before and ended up having to uninstall the product and reinstall it, I was unable to find any other solution as well.

i have only noticed this when i would extract one of their .exe packages and try to run the installer fix is just run the .exe dont extract it first., if its a dvd disc try copying the disc to a folder on your desktop and running the install again.

Have you attempted to run it as "Administrator.?

I don't believe so...I should have thought of that. This also is NOT from a CD/DVD it's from a file share (see attached). Office 2010 does not show up in the Programs and Features list anymore so I really can't re-install or repair.

Hi,

If you want to run the set-up from extracted files, then first check that the folder structure is retained. If you are using WinZip to extract files, and you are extracting to a random location like ?E:/Office?, it will show the error. The correct way of extraction is through syntax ?E:\en_office_professional_plus_2010_x86_515486.exe/?. So the extraction location ?E:/Office? can be any location. You have to use the above correct syntax or you can directly install it from the downloaded file.
