TheStvo
hi, i recently found my internet (cable connection which i share w/ two other machines) has been really slow. is there a program where i can monitor the up/down bandwidth used by each computer connected through the switch? i want to be able to see where all the bandwidth is being utilized. is there such a program? is it possible to monitor the bandwidth of the other computers as well as total bandwidth? any other ways to monitor the bandwidth? something easy to use or graphical would be great. some help please. Thanks!
Frank
Try MRTG. It is a very usefull program. You can set up the stats many ways, and it refreshes every minute. I have never used it with a switch, but as long as it is SNMP it should work.
+BudMan MVC Posted September 9, 2003 MVC Share Posted September 9, 2003 Mrtg will work great - just turn on snmp for your machines.

+BudMan MVC Posted September 9, 2003 MVC Share Posted September 9, 2003 I dnt understand which file to download on that site theres LOADS I know someone will say something about this. And I really do not mean for anyone to take this the wrong way. But to be honest if you can not figure out which file to download - your most likely not going to be able to get it working! ;) All of the files are numbered by version, ie 2.7, 2.9, 2.10 etc.. - Don't you think you would want the latest version??? Did you bother to read the win32 (Im guessing your a windows user) install guide?? Its like the 3 link down from the DOWNLOAD link - here --> http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools...g/nt-guide.html The second line in the PREREQUISITES says; "The latest version of MRTG from http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/pub Look for mrtg-2.10.2.zip or better" How hard was that??? I fail to understand what is so hard about reading???
