new blaster variant?

Recommended Posts

A windows error window opens up saying there was a problem with win32 something, so it is being forced to close.

After that, the RPC error pops up, with the 60 second timer.

I then use shutdown /a in the run prompt, which prevents it for shutting down. After I use that command, I can no longer check email, or try and run liveupdate.

On this computer I have symantec corporate, with the most recent liveupdate deffinition 9/5/03, and also have all the windows updates and blaster/welchia/etc. fixes.

Frequency Rate: every few hours of up time.

Anyone else having this problem or know of it?

could be something else, not a virus. check ur firewall logs to see if u have the same symptoms of the blaster worm. Will be interesting to find out if it is a new variant. Check for any rouge processes that are running.

MxxCon you need to chill out.

I have NAV Corp 8.1 at home on my domain, fully licenced as well. Since the licence comes from where I work it extends to off site, how do you know this guys client is "warez"? Most people who choose to pirate NAV use 2003/2004 and not the Enterprise edition.

Why MxxCon, I suppose both MxxCon and GameGuy were a bit out of line assuming that his software was warez. They should have got the facts right first. Go away and hide in shame. I bet they both have pirated software on there computers and if MS knew they were using warez copys of windows, what would they say . . . . he he  j/k.

i do not appologize to anybody and stand by my statement.

if you have legal access to NAV Corp, you either have IT staff at work to address this issue to, or you are IT staff, or you have legal license w/ Symantec to contact them for support.

fyi, if you susptect there is a virus and your AV doesn't detect it and your virus DB is 4days old, you should use InteligentUpdater to get '0day' DB file.
