QuickSilver for Windows

Question

Hi,

I'm new to Windows 7 and mostly used Mac OS before this moment. Is there an application such as Quicksilver for Windows? I could just press alt + space and then a small window would pop up where I could typ the programs name and start it. I'm looking for something alike for Windows 7.

Thanks!

W.

Winkey (opens Start Menu) -> Type Name of Application (will type in the search at the bottom of the Start Menu) -> Enter (Should launch that application)

Am I allowed to run away with red cheeks? Thank you!

Bah. Too slow.

Start Menu search FTW.

Too slow? Launchy? Surely you jest, start menu search is pretty damn slow, and does not allow partial searches. i.e. it does not bring up any results when I type fetcher , when in fact it should recognize "docfetcher". Launchy has no problem with that.

It does however, return indexed control panel stuff when queried, so it's pretty useful.

It's true, launchy is faster and has some extra functionality. Not that which is equal to quicksilver but more powerful than the start search box.

Sure it does, it supports wildcards just fine, along with the various keyword modifiers.

that it is not, it might be faster to some hardly noticeable degree, more powerful, eh no, that just means you don't know how to use windows search/instant search.
