+E.Worm Jimmy Subscriber¹ Posted January 7, 2002 Subscriber¹ Share Posted January 7, 2002 for some reason my computer started to restart instead of shutdown everytime i choose to "shutdown" i am using win98se - and the only think i have changed since it last worked fine is an update for norton antivirus. i have norton antivirus 5 and the update was a few megs - probably more then just new definition - but the old liveupdate did not show what exactly did it download or install... its annoying - i have to switch off pc before the windows restarts.. any ideas please
Vlad
Run windows update, I remember seeing something about shutdown fix on the site. Also try updating the drivers for your motherboard.
nXP_151 Veteran Posted January 26, 2002 Veteran Share Posted January 26, 2002 Yes there is. Just download the patch double click on the patch and it should install, then your shutdown problem is gone. Oh yeah it ask for a restart :right: .
