This is an issue I had to deal with and finally found a fix. I am posting it here so that it may be useful to others who may have this issue.
When you print from Firefox 4 to a pdf or xps printer it is no longer possible to select the text in the resultant pdf or xps document respectively. Turns out this is because of the way text is rendered in Firefox 4. The solution is to turn off Hardware acceleration and the problem goes away. Although this is not much of a solution because you are trading one feature to enable another it does solve the problem.
If anybody else knows of a way to fix it without disabling the hardware acceleration please go ahead and post it here. Thanks.
