INTEL'S NEXT whopping big chip, the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition clocking 3.4GHz, is for sale in Germany. Well, it's being listed as for sale by a German site, anyway. The chip, which we still expect will break cover in a week or two, is listed at www.alternate.de as having 2MB of tertiary cache, and it's going to be a boxed item.
It will cost €999 when it's available. These chips are based on the "Gallatin" core which Intel formerly reserved for expensive servers.
