When Sony created its Universal Media Disk (UMD) format for its PlayStation Portable (PSP), it wanted to encourage other companies to release content specifically for the hand-held device.
Sony Computer Entertainment, the division of Sony which is responsible for creating the PSP, indended for tamer movies and music, but at least two adult filmmakers say that they will release adult-themed movies for the PSP starting next month.
Playboy released titles onto the PSP in April, when it began to offer "exclusive video and images of Cyber Girl of the year Amy Sue Cooper, photographed and formatted specifically for viewing on your PlayStation Portable."
"It is utterly undesirable, but we cannot stop software makers from selling such videos," said Sony Computer Entertaiment public relations earlier this week.
