On September 9th, Apple held its annual fall event to announce its latest iPhone, iPads and Apple TV. While the hardware was the primary star of the show, Apple also dedicated a good portion of their media event to software with iOS 9 and watchOS 2. While iOS 9 launched as scheduled on September 16th, watchOS 2 was delayed due to the discovery of a last minute bug. Luckily, it looks as though Apple has sorted out the issue as they have just pushed out update to Apple Watch devices.
watchOS 2 arrives roughly five months after the initial release of the Apple Watch. The updated OS doesn't offer any dramatic changes, but does offer some spit and polish to the budding wearable OS. watchOS will offer new watch faces and offer more details on the face itself via what Apple dubs 'Complications'. The update will also improve the speed of applications by allowing them to run natively on the watch.
The Apple Watch is currently available via Apple and other retailers. The watch starts at $349 and is available in a wide variety of colors options.
