All 2015 Samsung Smart TVs will come with Tizen, PlayStation Now, and more

Samsung has officially announced that their entire 2015 Smart TV lineup will be powered by the company’s Tizen based operating system. The tech giant hopes that more developers will use it and contribute to building a richer ecosystem to speed up the growth of its user base. This marks a new step away from Android for the South Korean company.

The company claims that the new platform will offer easier development of apps, with a revamped Smart Hub interface for easier navigation. It will also enable Smart TVs to sync content with other Samsung devices by using Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth Low Energy, and will allow users to watch live broadcasts or television on their mobile devices even it is powered off.

Samsung recognizes the shift in the way people consume entertainment, and the continuing trend to use multiple devices and connect to a variety of services to access content. For 2015, the South Korean giant has prepared four partnerships, Samsung Sports Live (live game streaming with on screen stats), PlayStation Now (cloud-streaming game service), Just Dance Now (an interactive dancing game using Samsung Smart Remote and Samsung mobile devices), and Bingo HOME: Race to Earth (a multi-screen interaction game).

With CES around the corner, Samsung has recently offered a teaser of the new Soundbar audio system featuring a big redesign, something that will surely compliment their curved Smart TVs.
