Amazon is rolling out a smart home device dashboard to select Fire tablets

Amazon is adding a new feature to some of its Fire tablets that will make it easier to quickly access smart home controls. The feature comes in the form of a smart home device dashboard, providing a single place where you can control your smart home devices.

The update will roll out to select Fire tablets including the Amazon Fire 7 (2019), Fire HD 8 (2018), Fire HD 8 (2020), and Fire HD 10 (2019). A Smart Home button will be added to the left corner of the navigation bar, so you can open the Smart Home button from any screen. This makes it more convenient to view and control your Alexa-powered smart home devices without leaving your current app.

This functionality is not entirely new to Amazon's products, though. As TechCrunch notes, this capability is already present on the Echo Show devices. You can also access the same controls via Google's and Apple's respective Home apps.
