Amazon working on its first PC game

Amazon has revealed its plans to develop an "ambitious" PC game and is hiring developers for the project.

Over the years, Amazon has developed a variety of products deviating from its core online retail business such as tablets, smartphones and streaming devices. There have been rumours of the company's game development plans in the past, but so far these haven't been proven true.

Nowthe company has posted 25 job listings over at Gamasutra for various positions in a game development team that will be based out of Seattle. Amazon believes that current game technology has "barely scratched the surface" and wants to improve the situation using a talented team of developers.

The company boasts of an existing team of developers who have already worked on some very successful games such as BioShock, Portal, World of Warcraft, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead, and Dota 2 among others.

Amazon has mentioned the use of Twitch and AWS to radically improve gameplay so we can expect a very high focus on multiplayer and social streaming in the company's games but that is all we know for now.
