In a few weeks time, Nintendo will unveil more details about its next console, the Switch. While we wait for more information, it appears that a new FCC filing could have revealed some potentially bad news about the console's battery.
If the FCC filing is an accurate representation of the final product, the hybrid handheld console will not offer a removable battery. This is quite different from the company's current Wii U, which offers a removable battery cover where users can easily swap in a brand new one directly from Nintendo. This will be important for the Switch since it is a hybrid console that will allow for gaming at home and on the go.
Nintendo will unveil more details about its upcoming console on January 12 at 'Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017' in Japan. That same week, Nintendo will start its North American tour to promote the console with live demo kiosks that will be open to the press and the public. The Switch will officially go on sale starting March 2017.
