then i ran in to this cute rep lady which i was trying to flirt with.
It didn't go that well, Then i just asked her "what is apple previewing
on 28" she told me that apple, will be bring a lot of their
powerpc
software to mac. Mostly Pro software so they can preplace PowerMac's
next. So what i hear is Mac Mini will be the last thing to go to
intel... Odd but she said that Mac mini's are still sellings like
crazy."
We had expected to see the Pro tools coming over to the Intel Macs much later in the year - but an 'early' launch would make sense.
Tktino's efforts with the sales rep aside, this seems more plausible than some of the recent stories surrounding a touch screen, true video iPod.
The Pro tools software is probably the only area holding back Intel Mac purchases. Apple's marketing strategy of late has been to 'under-promise' - that is to claim one thing and do one better in a few months time (see recent speed increase on MacBook Pros). An early launch would be a nice surprise of sorts.
