Apple pulls back NVIDIA Update released on Monday

Apple has retracted the NVIDIA Graphics Update 2009 released on Monday from its website and automatic software update system without any explanation. The update was meant to address issues with its Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter and also boost HD video performance. The issues are not fixed even after the update and still continues for some users as reported in the company's support forum.

Several users started reporting long back at the Apple forums regarding trouble with their new notebook's graphics performance. The problem was noted when switched to the integrated 9400M graphics processor but not when using the discrete 9600M GPU.

One of the affected user reported in the forums that the problem was worse after applying the update. The user was not able to use his external samsung 22" monitor on extended desktop mode but only in mirror mode.
