Apple starts its summer sale, throws in free wireless Beats with purchase

Apple isn't known to have many sales on a regular basis, but the summer sale for students and educators is one of the exceptions, arriving like clockwork every year. Although it can differ every year, the firm tends to offer its best prices during this time, along with some kind of bundled freebie. While the past couple years have been a bit mediocre, those that purchase something this summer should be fairly content since the firm is giving away a free set of wireless Beats headphones.

If you've been contemplating the purchase of a MacBook, Apple has now priced them starting at $1249, while the MacBook Air starts at $849. Those looking for something with a little more power will most likely have their eyes on the MacBook Pro starting at $1249 or maybe an iMac desktop.

If you're looking for something a bit more compact, Apple is also offering a small discount on its newly released 10.5-inch iPad Pro by taking $20 off the retail price of $649. Although the above deals might not net you a lot of money off the products, the firm is at least throwing in a set of free wireless Beats headphones. While the choice of free wireless headphones will vary depending on the product you choose to purchase, at a minimum you'll get a set of BeatsX for free, with Apple offering an opportunity to upgrade to the more pricey items like a Solo3 or Powerbeats3 for an additional fee. If you don't want to choose any of the options above, Apple graciously allows you to decline the free gift.
