The iPhone 4S continues to expand its reach into even more countries around the world. Apple's latest and best selling smartphone is now on sale (if you can find one) in 29 countries. Today Apple revealed that 15 more territories around the globe will begin to sell the iPhone 4S on November 11.
Those countries include the tech savvy locations of Hong Kong and South Korea, which will almost certainly be huge markets for Apple's device. Other countries that will sell the phone on November 11 include Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, and Romania. Many of these countries will allow its residents to pre-order the iPhone 4S on November 4 (Albania, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro and Panama are out of luck on that front).
Apple claims that by the end of the year over 70 countries will have the iPhone 4S available for sale. Even with the current locations it seems that demand has already overwhelmed the supply of iPhone 4S units. This is both good and bad news for Apple. The good news is that having a device that is quickly selling out means high amounts of revenues and profits. On the other hand, Apple could have lost money by not being able to keep up with the demand.
That situation may open the door for other smartphone makers to offer up alternatives to the iPhone 4S. That includes the Motorola RAZR which will go on sale via Verizon on Sunday, November 6, and the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which has the Android 4.0 operating system and will also go on sale in November. Will people who want to buy the iPhone 4S but are unable to get it immediately look to other devices to satisfy their need for a new phone? It's very possible.
