Assassin's Creed: Origins December update brings new quests and Chocobos

There was quite a bit of excitement when Assassin's Creed: Origins was first announced at E3 2017. After a long wait, the game would finally arrive, becoming a hit with gamers and also becoming a commercial success. Now that a couple months have passed and the fervor has cooled, it's apparently time to update the game with more content.

Ubisoft took to its website at the top of December to announce new challenges that will be available to players. A new "nightmare" mode will be provided as a new difficulty level, making enemies more resilient to damage. This will come with a new scaling option that will allow players to adjust the level of enemies to match up with their characters.

There will also be two new quests, one of which will be called "Here Comes a New Challenger", where players will be able to challenge enemy waves in an arena. The second quest is being kept a secret, but it looks like the Final Fantasy's Chocobo could make an appearance, if the small clip on the Ubisoft website is any indication.

Beyond the quests, players will also get access to the "Trials of the Gods," which will allow them to challenge three gods - Sekhmet, which will be new for December, and Anubis and Sobek, which are from the first two trials.

There is no official release date for the new content, but it will be available for all platforms. Assassin's Creed: Origins is out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
