The ASUS Zenfone 2 has been making the rounds in other parts of the world for the past couple of months. Fortunately, ASUS has finally got around to officially introducing the handset to the U.S. market.
Debuting during CES 2015, ASUS's Zenfone 2 was one of the first devices to offer 4GB of RAM at an unbelievable price. Luckily, the handset will remain competitively priced for the U.S. market and will be exclusively distributed through Amazon. ASUS will offer two version of the Zenfone 2: an Intel Atom 1.8Ghz model with 2GB of RAM priced at $199 off-contract, and a Intel Atom 2.3Ghz model with 4GB RAM priced at $299 off-contract. Both units will be unlocked and will share the following specifications:
- 5.5-inch 1080p display
- 13 MP F2.0 rear camera
- 5 MP front-facing camera
- Android Lollipop
- LTE, microSD expansion, BT 4.0, etc.
While there is no mention of the phone making its way to carriers, ASUS can feel content knowing that their device is priced extremely reasonably, offering immense value. The ASUS Zenfone 2 will be available directly from ASUS via Amazon sometime this month.
