AT&T has said that beginning this month it will expand 5G and 5G+ service to all of its customers on unlimited wireless plans at no extra cost. According to the firm, it’s “showing appreciation” to long-term customers that are on a previous generation of unlimited plans by expanding the 5G service to their accounts at no extra cost.
The consumer accounts that are set to get 5G and 5G+ include:
- AT&T Unlimited & More
- AT&T Unlimited & More Premium
- AT&T Unlimited Choice
- AT&T Unlimited Choice II
- AT&T Unlimited Choice Enhanced
- AT&T Unlimited Plus
- AT&T Unlimited Plus Enhanced
- AT&T Unlimited Value
- AT&T Unlimited
Beginning next month, the firm said it’s going to bring 5G and 5G+ to those on business plans including:
- AT&T Unlimited Choice for Business
- AT&T Unlimited Plus for Business
- AT&T Business Unlimited Basic
- AT&T Business Unlimited Plus
- AT&T Business Unlimited Enhanced
- AT&T Business Unlimited Basic with Private Wi-Fi
- AT&T Business Unlimited Plus with Private Wi-Fi
- AT&T Business Unlimited Enhanced with Private Wi-Fi
- AT&T Business Unlimited Preferred
Commenting on the expansion of the firm’s 5G and 5G+ service, AT&T Mobility executive vice president and general manager David Christopher said:
“In another move to reward our most loyal customers, we’re proud to expand 5G access to more customers on our unlimited plans. Now, more customers can experience fast, reliable, secure nationwide AT&T 5G when working from home or on the go, connecting to loved ones, playing their favorite games or watching their favorite HBO Max shows.”
The AT&T 5G network is currently available to 230 million people in the U.S. across 14,000 cities and towns while the 5G+ network is available in 38 cities across the country. Aside from the plans mentioned earlier, the AT&T Unlimited Starter, Extra, and Elite plans already have 5G access. Those on older plans will be alerted by email or text when 5G has been made available on their account, a 5G-compatible device will also be needed.
