Battlefield 1's Community Test Environment is now available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4

The Battlefield 1 Community Test Environment (CTE) has been available for PC players for some time now, serving as a separate game client where DICE can test upcoming content for the World War I title.

However, the CTE functionality is no longer exclusive to the PC as of today, with DICE announcing that the Battlefield 1 CTE is now available for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players.

There is, however, a requirement for anyone who is interested in participating in the test environment. Just like on the PC, only players who own the base game and Battlefield 1's Premium Pass can apply to have access to the CTE.

Those that fall into this category, and wish to help out the developers in testing out content that may or may not be heading to the game in the future, can register for the CTE by going into the 'More' section in the game's menu, then selecting 'Community Test Environment', and follow the instructions from there.

Note that the CTE's download size will be substantial, in the range of 40-50GB, as it is essentially another copy of Battlefield 1 with additional content over the regular game. DICE has not outlined what is included in the console CTE, but it is likely to have content related to the upcoming 'In the Name of the Tsar' expansion, which is set to arrive sometime in September.
