Battletoads reboot gets a gameplay trailer, no release date

Back at E3 2018, Microsoft teased the return of Rare's 1991 classic Battletoads. The short clip promised 2.5D hand-drawn graphics, couch co-op, and "broad non-specific feature declarations". At E3 this year, the Redmond giant finally showed off a gameplay trailer for the Battletoads reboot, which is being made by Rare in collaboration with Dlala Studios.

The description reads as follows:

The Battletoads are back! Rash, Zitz and Pimple are returning to steal the spotlight as they smash, stomp and drill their way through an all-new action-packed adventure of choreographed chaos. Couch co-op may never be the same again as this new Battletoads provides an epic brawl through exciting challenges and hordes of enemies. Developed by Dlala Studios in partnership with Rare.

We don't currently know any release date for the title, and seemingly even the 2019 time frame has been dropped. What is known is that this is coming to the Xbox One - no mention of a PC release -, and that it will be available via Xbox Game Pass at launch.
