BlackBerry KEYone gets one step closer to Android Oreo

Google's Android Oreo made its debut nearly a year ago but a lot of older handsets from various manufacturers have yet to be updated. Those who own a BlackBerry KEYone have been clamoring for the update and it looks like now, the company is close to releasing it.

People registered to the BlackBerry Beta Zone were recently sent an email that highlighted the firm's new beta process and also informed them that there would be an invitation-only beta for Android Oreo for the KEYone. Although this is far from an official public release, it's better than radio silence and to be left wondering.

Despite the email being directed to those who were previously signed up to Beta Zone, it was published in full on CrackBerry.com, along with the web address where you can sign up for new beta tests. If you want to try your luck and are a KEYone owner who is eager to test out Android Oreo, you'll probably want to register. Although there looks to be progress with the KEYone, those with the Motion are still left in the dark.
