Boy Genius reveals true identity as BGR is acquired by MMC

Fellow partner in crime and world renowned mobile and gadget news blog, Boy Genius Report, has officially been bought out by Mail.com Media Corporation (MMC). The press release, which can be seen on BGR's website, notes that this deal will take the news site to the next level. Currently, according to Technorati, BGR is ranked as the 47th most popular blog in the world.

The one thing that's always stood out about BGR is the fact that the Boy Genius himself has never made his identity known to the world. Until yesterday, he had just been known as Boy Genius (or BG). As part of the acquisition announcement, we now know his name to be Jonathan Geller. According to CNet, he is a 23 year old who never went to college. He even dropped out of high school to make more time for his constant contributions to Engadget. Since the inception of the site, Geller kept his name a secret "for marketing reasons." He will continue to go by his the Boy Genius alias as the site moves forward.
