Call of Duty: WWII to include Doctor Who star David Tennant as part of its zombie mode cast

Call of Duty's return to World War II was officially confirmed back in April, taking a much-needed break from the streak of modern and futuristic shooters the franchise has been popping out over the years.

While the game's single-player and multiplayer modes have been showcased already, its highly anticipated cooperative zombie mode is still under wraps, with the developer only releasing a few teaser images to keep the hordes of fans at bay. The new mode is said to be taking a different route than previous incarnations of Call of Duty zombie modes.

Now, the Call of Duty Twitter account has begun teasing the official reveal by unveiling the cast members involved in the zombie mode. The first cast member to be introduced in this fashion is David Tennant, who will be voicing the role of a character named Drostan Hynd.

The actor is well-known for his role as the Tenth Doctor in the hit British television show Doctor Who. Tennant also appeared as the main villain in the Netflix series Jessica Jones, playing the role of Kilgrave, a man with the superpower of controlling people.

It's unclear what sort of role Tennant will be portraying in the Call of Duty: WWII zombie mode, and whether his character will be a survivor or serve as an antagonist.

But we won't have to wait much longer to find out what exactly is new in the upcoming cooperative mode, as well as Tennant's role in the game, as the Call of Duty: WWII's zombie mode world reveal is set to take place at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.
