Paradox Interactive-published city builder, Cities: Skylines is not unfamiliar with expansion packs, receiving four of them for the PC version since the game's launch back in 2015. Now, the publisher has released a new add-on for the game called Concerts, that is described as a 'mini-expansion'.
This paid add-on gives city builders the ability to host their own music festivals and manage various factors surrounding them, such as new concert-centric city ordinances. These festivals will be held at the new Festival Area building, which interestingly carries a mechanic similar to 2013's SimCity, where the building can be upgraded to make room for larger crowds and even bigger shows.
Music festivals will feature various in-game bands from EDM, Rock, and Pop genres. Meanwhile, the new music radio station will allow players to enjoy all the newly added music while they manage their cities.
In addition, the developer, Colossal Order, is releasing a free update for the game alongside the add-on's launch. Among other improvements, the update brings a revamped mod manager for an easier time sorting and selecting which mods to enhance the game with. Coming in at $6.99, Concerts isn't exactly cheap for the amount of content it offers, considering a full Cities: Skylines expansion normally costs in the range of $12.99. Nevertheless, fans of the game can now pick the mini-expansion up via the Steam store or Paradox Plaza for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. There is no word on the availability of this add-on for the game's Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions as of yet.
