Cortana can now be used to control Spotify in Windows 10

After Microsoft finally put an end to its Groove Music services last week, Cortana recently picked up Spotify integration for Windows 10 devices running the Creators Update or newer. The digital assistant now lets users link their Spotify accounts - free, or paid - and issue various commands with their voice.

Some of these include:

  • Play dance music on Spotify
  • Play my discover weekly playlist on Spotify

  • Play some Drake

  • Play focus music

  • Play rock music

  • Play my track

  • what’s playing?

The functionality was introduced just last month with the latest Windows Insider Fast ring preview build 17063, and is now seemingly becoming available to regular versions of the operating system. Users can set it up by adding their Spotify account in the 'Music' section of Cortana's notebook. However, do keep in mind that the feature is currently only available for English, United States; if you want to try it out, you will have to change language and region settings accordingly.
