Crackdown 3 to be showcased at Xbox FanFest next month

Crackdown 3 was revealed back at E3 2014 as a Microsoft-exclusive title. The game was initially slated to arrive last November, but has since been delayed numerous times, with the most recent release window having it scheduled for a February 2019 launch.

Xbox México has now confirmed that Crackdown 3 is included in the list of unreleased games that will be showcased at X018, a special event that is part of the Xbox FanFest taking place in Mexico City next month.

Although fans of the yet unreleased title did get a look at some gameplay elements at this year's E3, more can be expected to be revealed in the upcoming event. The open-world action-adventure game boasts a completely destructible environment, and a protagonist voiced by Terry Crews. The destructible nature of the in-game environment is said to be powered by Microsoft Azure, which is a rather unconventional way to employ use of a cloud-based platform.

Despite plenty of hype surrounding its initial reveal, details regarding the title have since been sparse since then. Interestingly, a Microsoft executive recently stated that the company pushed back the title's release because it had enough third-party AAA content planned for the holiday season, and it didn't want Crackdown 3's potential success to be limited by it. It remains to be seen, however, whether the upcoming AAA title manages to live up to its billing.

In any case, if you're interested in getting a look at Crackdown 3, be sure to check out the X018 live stream on the Xbox Mixer Channel on November 10.
