It was five months ago when many were crushed to learn that FilmStruck, the home for the highly revered Criterion Collection, would be closing down. Today, a new service has been erected that will host all of the classics of the Criterion Collection, making it available to stream once again.
The Criterion Collection offers over 1,000 films from celebrated directors like Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Wes Anderson, and more. The new service will be available through the usual suspects like iOS and Android devices, Roku, Fire TV, and through your computer using a compatible browser. Unfortunately, at the moment, the service will not be available on the Xbox or PlayStation.
The Criterion Collection will be initially only available to those in the United States and Canada. It will cost $10.99 a month or if you choose to pay in one lump sum, can be had for $99.99 a year. Those unsure about the content can always experience the service on a 14-day trial, which should be plenty of time to see whether its offerings are what you are looking for.
