Darksiders Genesis release date announced, comes early to PC and Google Stadia

In June earlier this year, popular game publisher THQ Nordic announced a spin-off title for the Darksiders trilogy. It was revealed that the game - titled Darksiders Genesis - would be coming to Google Stadia along with the usual platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. At that time, no release date was announced for the title.

Today, THQ Nordic and developer Airship Syndicate officially revealed the launch date for Darksiders Genesis. The fourth installment in the Darksiders series will be released on Google Stadia and PC (via Steam) on December 5, 2019. Meanwhile, console gamers will have to wait until February 14, 2020, to get their hands on the game.

Apart from confirming the designated release dates, the game makers also dropped a second trailer for the title.

Unlike the previous games in the series, Darksiders Genesis will introduce a two-player co-op mode featuring the third horseman, War, and the fourth horseman, Strife. Playing alone? Fear not, for solo players will be able to switch between both characters while playing. The fourth Darksiders title will also feature an online co-op mode - another first for the series.

Pre-orders for Darksiders Genesis are currently open for PC and can be placed through the official Darksiders website or through Steam directly. While the title is priced at $14.99 for PC users, an ongoing pre-purchase promotion has brought the price down by 15% to $12.74. The pre-order discount ends on December 5, 2019, the day the game comes out.
