Gas Powered Games and Stardock studios are gearing up for the release of Demigod in a few weeks and they were kind enough to provide us with some code to see how things have been coming along. The game still has a few more weeks before release and the time remaining is being spent on tweaks, play balancing and stamping out a few final bugs.
If you are a RTS fan, you may have played an interesting mod for Warcraft 3 called Defense of the Ancients (DotA). While technically a Real Time Strategy game, it did not follow the standard RTS game play routine. Players do not spend time harvesting resources, constructing buildings or producing units. Instead in DotA you control a single hero who has special powers and abilities which you upgrade, RPG style, after earning experience from combat with enemies.
