EA's gamescom 2017 presentation to hold new gameplay reveals and "a few surprises"

With the EA Play event at last month's E3 expo behind it, EA has now announced its plans for gamescom next month. The behemoth publisher says that it is gearing up to unveil plenty of new gameplay footage while providing hands-on experiences for everyone attending the event in Cologne, Germany.

The blog post mentions that the presentation will hold "a few surprises", but as expected, doesn't go into detail on what they could be. The publisher is, however, planning to unveil the Star Wars Battlefront II's Starfighter Assault game mode at the event, which is also set to be included in the game's upcoming beta.

Meanwhile, EA is providing almost 400 'gameplay stations' for attendees to try out a selection of its popular upcoming titles, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Need for Speed Payback, FIFA 18, and Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar. Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes and FIFA Mobile will also be available for anyone interested in taking the company's mobile games for a whirl.

The gamescom EA Live Show is slated to begin on August 21 at 9:30am PDT, the same day as Microsoft's gamescom event. EA added that fans should keep a look out for further news in the coming weeks regarding what they can expect from its gamescom presentation.
