Essential shows off the quality of the 360-degree camera add-on for its new PH-1 handset

It was only a week ago that Andy Rubin's Essential, revealed to the world its latest product, the PH-1. While the handset offers an impressive near-bezel-less display and top-tier specifications, it also has an interesting feature that allows it to accept different types of accessories via its magnetic pogo connection. One of the first accessories that will be available for the phone will be a 360 camera. Today, the firm has shown off some samples from that camera.

While the Essential YouTube page does give us five sample clips, the quality is exactly what you would expect - completely average. Although 360-degree cameras offer a new perspective on what is being filmed, unfortunately, they rarely offer the quality one would like when viewing videos.

The Essential PH-1 is currently available for pre-order from the company's website. The phone will start at $699 and can be purchased in two colors: Black Moon and Pure White. If the camera samples were interesting to you, you can also add the 360-camera to your order for an additional $50 for a limited time. The camera has a retail value of $199. The phone is expected to start shipping sometime in June.
