Everyone can enjoy multiplayer games - and Minecraft - for free on Xbox Live this weekend

Microsoft is offering all Xbox Live members - including those who don't pay for an Xbox Live Gold subscription - to join in a special Multiplayer All-Access event this weekend. Multiplayer gaming is usually restricted to Gold members only, but Microsoft is dropping that limitation for the next few days so that other members can "experience one of the most popular benefits of Xbox Live Gold membership".

Until May 21, everyone around the world can play any Xbox games that they own online with friends and family, at no additional cost, on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Additionally, Microsoft is offering a "limited time free unlock" of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, allowing Xbox One and One S owners to try out the blocky world-building game without buying it first.

Microsoft is also currently selling the Xbox One S Minecraft Favorites bundle for $249 including a free game, The Crew, along with $10 off an Xbox Live Gold membership.
