EVGA RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin rumored to take up to 1275W thanks to dual 12-pin power connectors

The EVGA RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin variant, which will likely be the most insane 3090 Ti available, will purportedly feature not one, but two of Nvidia's 12-pin power connectors. The report comes via whispers from the QuasarZone forums where a member posted this information. The poster who talked about this says that Nvidia will move to this dual 12-pin power connector design from the previous triple 8-pin connectors it used on the EVGA 3090 Kingpin.

The price of the 3090 Ti Kingpin is said to also be higher than its 3090 sibling. This means the official MSRP (which doesn't mean too much nowadays) of the EVGA RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin could be in the range of around $2500.

The poster also alleges that EVGA would cease the production of the Kingpin 3090 once the Ti is out, and in terms of the latter's availability, that is expected around March or the end of Q1 2022.

Nvidia introduced the 12-pin power connector with the launch of the RTX 3000 series Founders Edition cards back in 2020.

Each such 12-pin connector is theoretically capable of delivering up to 600W of power. So two of these on the EVGA RTX 3090 Ti alongside the PCIe slot could provide up to 1275W of power to the card. It is unlikely for the card to consume so much power all the time but these are enthusiast-level products so manufacturers do often go overboard with stuff like these.
