Facebook starts rolling out new Like and Share buttons

Facebook introduced the Like button back in 2010 and together with the Share button, they are viewed over 22 billion times daily across more than 7.5 million websites.

Now the company has given those buttons a fresh coat of paint and are currently rolling out the new buttons worldwide in a staggered process.

In a post on the Facebook Developer Blog, they point out the new changes:

Today, we're introducing a new design for both Like and Share to help people share more great content across the web. We're already seeing a favorable increase in Likes and Shares with the new design and will be rolling these buttons out to everyone in the coming weeks.

The blog further points out that if you are seeing the old Like and Share buttons, that you will automatically be upgraded "over the next few weeks".

Finally, creating a Like and/or Share button on your website has also been updated to make it easier to implement on your website as well.

Whatever you feel about Facebook or social media in general, the buttons provide an easy way to allow websites like Neowin to get referrals for the content, and therefore is a welcome update.
