Huawei has been having a tough time of it lately. After being added to the U.S. Department of Commerce's Entity List as a result of the trade war between the Trump administration and China, American companies couldn't do business with the company. Google suspended its Android licenses, and other companies like Intel, Qualcomm, Broadcom, and ARM have all backed away.
The story took an interesting turn today though, as a PCMag reporter attempted to ship a P30 Pro from an office in London to its office in New York. According to the package's tracking information, it arrived in the U.S. via Indianapolis, spent about five hours there, and was bounced straight back to the UK.
It was FedEx that sent the package back, and support confirmed that it was due to the U.S. ban on doing business with Huawei. Of course, that's disregarding the fact that Huawei had nothing to do with what happened here, and this wasn't even a transaction between two different parties. It was simply a company that was shipping a device from one office to the other.
According to the report from PCMag, it got a statement from UPS saying, "There is not a general ban on shipping Huawei devices between United Kingdom and United States locations." That means that if you're going to ship a Huawei device, you should probably go the UPS route at this time.
