Mozilla may have just released the final version of the Firefox 7 web browser but thanks to its new and aggressive release schedule it is already beta testing Firefox 8. Mozilla has posted up some of the new features that will be a part of the final version of Firefox 8 on its official blog site. If you want to just jump into the water and start using the beta you can download it now from Mozilla. The beta is available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android.
One of the new features is adding search support for Twitter. Firefox 8 will have an option in its search menus that will allow for users to search for usernames and hashtags in Twitter pages. Another new feature concerns the handling of tabs in the browser. The blog site states, "Users can choose to load tabs only when selected, resulting in faster start-up times when windows with lots of tabs are restored."
It also adds more control over third party add-ons for Firefox. The blog states, "Users will receive a one-time notification to review and confirm third party add-ons they want to keep, disable or delete. When Firefox starts and finds that a third-party program has installed an add-on, Firefox will disable the add-on until the user has explicitly opted in, giving users better control over their Web experience." If Mozilla sticks with its current and very quick development schedule we should see it release the final version of Firefox 8 sometime in mid-November.
