First wave of Fallout 4 DLC detailed, season pass price increasing

People love Fallout 4. The game, which features hundreds of hours of playable content, has been cited as the cause for a drop in online porn traffic as well as a man's loss of all his possessions, among other things. While the game was easily the most anticipated title of 2015, many players have since picked the bones of its Boston Commonwealth clean. If that's your situation, you'll be happy to hear that Fallout 4 has its first wave of DLC coming real soon.

Confirmed by Bethesda this morning, Fallout 4 will receive three waves of DLC in 2016. The first wave, titled Automatron ($9.99), is set for a March 2016 release. Automatron expands the world of Fallout 4 by having you investigate a mysterious character called the Mechanist, who is responsible for the creation of Robobrain - a devious and evil robot. Automatron not only offers side story content to the core plot of Fallout 4, but it will also introduce the ability to scavenge remains of robotic beings for parts that can be used to build robotic companions.

Fallout 4 will also be receiving two additional packs of DLC shortly after Automatron launches. In April, you'll be able to download the Wasteland Workshop DLC ($4.99), followed by Far Harbor ($24.99) in May. Wasteland Workshop will allow you to capture and tame all kinds of creatures from the Commonwealth to use as you see fit, which includes the opportunity to pit these beasts against one another. Far Harbor will be a much bigger expansion, sending you off to do more work for Valentine's Detective Agency by heading to an irradiated island off the coast of Maine to look into synthetic activity.

Not only did Bethesda confirm these three waves of DLC for Fallout 4, but the studio also announced even more content for the game. Without detailing what is to come, Fallout 4 will pick up "more than $60 worth of new Fallout adventures and features throughout 2016". As a result, the season pass for the game is being raised from $29.99 to $49.99. Before you tear down the walls around you in a fit of rage, current season pass holders will get the additional DLC at no extra charge. Bethesda is also giving non-season pass holders a chance to get all of the coming DLC at the original $29.99 price, as long as you buy the season pass before March 1, 2016.
