Games with Gold: Assault Android Cactus and Virtua Fighter 5 are now free

Xbox Live Gold members can now claim two more games to their libraries for free as Microsoft has made available the first round of the July Games with Gold. As previously announced, the two games are Assault Android Cactus for the Xbox One and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown for the Xbox 360. As always, the Xbox 360 title is also available to Xbox One owners thanks to backward compatibility.

Here are the store links to directly claim the games:

Assault Android Cactus (Xbox One)

Assault Android Cactus is an arcade style twin stick shooter set in a vivid sci fi universe. Junior Constable Cactus is outside her pay grade when she responds to a distress call and ends up stranded on a crippled space freighter under attack by its own robot workers.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown 2 (Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Customize and fight as your favorite 17 characters from the Virtua Fighter franchise. This definitive version of the series includes an overhauled fighting mechanic, including “offensive mode,” a new strategic side-stepping ability to attack your enemy. Battle your way to the top and prove that you are the ultimate warrior.

Meanwhile, the Smite Gold Bundle for the Xbox One from the June Games with Gold is be available to claim until July 15, then it will be replaced by Death Squared. Keep in mind that only claimed Xbox 360 games will remain playable if the Gold subscription is discontinued, while claimed Xbox One games need an active subscription to play.

Also, don't forget that Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service is getting a horde of new games in July as well. The 10 new titles include Warhammer: Vermintide 2, DiRT 4, a couple of classic Bethesda games, and more.
